Volkswagen dismisses the V8 TDI from the Touareg range with this special edition of 400 units for Germany only. Times are changing and large displacement engines are gradually disappearing in an industry forced to comply with strict emissions regulations. Something that is especially happening with diesel engines.
This is the case of Volkswagen’s V8 TDI that after a little more than a year has passed since its presentation in the current Touareg will now say goodbye to the German SUV range, but it will do so, with a final goodbye in the form of an edition limited edition called Touareg V8 Last Edition and that can be enjoyed exclusively by customers on the German market.
Only 400 units
This special edition will be limited to just 400 units and will feature the same base equipment as an R-Line and some special badges, thus featuring a gloss black fender, rear diffuser, and door handle and a “Last Edition “present on the B-pillars together with the serial number within the 400 copies to come. These details will be combined with a body that can go in the colors Pure White, Malbec Red, Silicon Gray, Antimony Silver, Deep Black Pearl, and Oryx White Pearl,
Optionally, this version can have a package that will also add LED headlights, the modern Innovision Cockpit, an adaptive chassis, and 21-inch black Suzuka wheels.
The mechanical part has a clear protagonist: a 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine that generates about 421 hp of power and a torque of 900 Nm that is transmitted to all four wheels through the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and automatic transmission of eight speeds. With these ingredients, what will be the last Touareg with a V8 engine will be able to boast of an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds and a maximum speed limited to 250 km / h.
Take over electrification
The Volkswagen Touareg V8 Last Edition will be offered exclusively in Germany for 104,361 euros, where it will be available from August 17.
The final gear of this Volkswagen Touareg V8 TDI will spearhead the Volkswagen large SUV range the recently landed Volkswagen Touareg R with its plug-in hybrid machine that combines a 3.0-liter TSI petrol V6 and an electric motor to offer 462 CV of power and 700 Nm of torque.
