VW Caddy 2021: All Details, Photos and price

The VW Caddy 2020 debut. We had been talking about it for a while and finally, one of the most popular vans on the market has just seen the light of day officially, exhibiting itself as a much more advanced and technological product. We are talking about the Volkswagen Caddy, which in this new generation has moved to the MQB platform to obtain a series of very interesting benefits, in addition to presenting a rather striking modern design.

Available in three different versions, two of them designed for the transport of goods, the novel image of the small German van is striking. In the front, some optical groups can adopt led technology, divided by a thin grill with the brand’s logo in the center. Below this, we find a lower grille, while in the lower area stands out a larger one that occupies most of the redesigned bumper.

At the rear, the slim led taillights are longer than before and extend to the ceiling. The new Caddy also benefits from 18-inch wheels, available as an option for the first time. Depending on the variant, the van will offer a large tailgate or two smaller ones at the rear, as well as one or two sliding sides, all available with the electric opener. All these changes in its design affect aerodynamics since the Cx drops from 0.33 to 0.30.

As far as the interior is concerned, an infotainment system appears with a screen that can go from 6.5 to 10 inches, with a new digital instrument panel, as well as a completely redesigned dashboard, multifunction steering wheel, novel gear lever, ergonomic seats and, for the first time, keyless opening. Regarding safety seats, the presence of adaptive cruise control, trailer control, and rear and side traffic warning should be highlighted.

In the mechanical section, different options appear based on diesel, gasoline and natural gas engines. Regarding the former, the brand says that they are “among the cleanest diesel engines in the world” thanks to twin dosing technology. These are two TDI units with powers ranging from 75 to 122 hp, offered together with a TSI block of 116 hp and another TGI whose power has not transcended. The German entity also claims that this new generation reduces fuel consumption by up to 12% compared to its predecessor.

Its arrival at the dealerships will take place later this year and there will be three levels of equipment available (Caddy, Life, and Style). At the moment we do not know their prices.
