Subaru updates the most basic crossover in the range. The Subaru XV 2021 arrives with new arguments, a more modern image with minimal changes, more attractive paint colors, and more equipment. The Japanese firm also takes the opportunity to improve the performance of the hybrid e-Boxer system and all-wheel drive.
Subaru will kick off 2021 with the arrival of an updated XV. The Japanese firm has just announced an update that will improve the compact SUV from all angles, without losing the characteristic essence that it looks from day one. The new range will reach the main European markets from the first months of 2021.
On the outside, the Subaru XV stands out for a more modern front section, with a new chrome frame that enhances the presence of the manufacturer’s emblem on the radiator grille, while the projectors of the fog lights are now integrated into sockets of air, having an insert with a matt aluminum finish. The range of colors has been expanded to 10 options, with “Blue Horizon Pearl” and “Yellow Plasma Pearl”, in addition to the “Dark Blue Pearl” exclusive to the electrified version.

For the interior, Subaru has also given the cabin a new look with a new option of black and gray fabric upholstery for the seats. However, it is the equipment that becomes a true protagonist, since the most basic equipment has now been expanded, detailed below, and reserving the last to the Subaru XV 2.0ie so that only the first two are available in XV 1.6:

The Japanese have also taken advantage of this update to introduce new features in the hybrid versions “e-Boxer”, now available with a special driving mode selector that can be used with the “Intelligent” and “Sport”. Notably, the tuning of the latter that now uses the engine braking torque to improve acceleration out of corners.
These versions can also be combined with the “SI-Drive” all-wheel-drive system, an option not available until now in the electrified car, but which is accompanied by a new option: the “X-Mode” all-wheel-drive assistant. The system features a new traction mode, ‘snow / dirt’ and ‘deep snow/mud’, which improves grip on more difficult terrain. Also, new front springs and shock absorbers have been fitted, increasing passenger comfort.
The firm has not presented any update in the mechanical section, preserving the current offer with the 1.6-liter boxer engine and 114 hp of maximum power, and the most efficient version that comes from the hand of the «e-Boxer», the hybrid2. 0ie that yields a maximum power of 150 hp.
