The seat has opened the doors of its new Seat Ateca 2021 to us and we could not resist. Let’s analyze the keys of your redesign. It arrived in 2016 and of course, it did to stay because the Seat Ateca is the model of the best-selling brand month by month and also one of the compact SUVs preferred by the Spanish public. During its four years of commercial life, it has shipped more than 300,000 units.
Now, it is completely renovated thanks to a series of aesthetic details directly imported from the Tarraco – its older brother – but also with the latest technology from the Volkswagen group. But without further delay, let’s analyze one by one the keys to the new Seat Ateca.
Aesthetic operation: new family airs
At first glance, some of the changes introduced in this Ateca 2021 are recognized, such as those that affect its front. The headlights are more ragged, very similar to those of the Tarraco and León 2020, the grill has different grilles depending on the level of finish we choose and the redesigned bumpers also contributes to enhancing the robustness that this model transmits. Less original is the rear in which only one detail stands out: the ‘Ateca’ badge made with the brand’s new typography and located in the lower area of the tailgate.
Seat Ateca 2021 Interior
A redesign at the instrumentation level, lighting, and materials used in it change the perception of the interior of the Ateca 2021. With all this, what stands out the most is its new multimedia equipment with the most advanced connectivity and technology. We refer to the Full Link system so that either through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, you have full connectivity for your smartphone, but also the eSim system that allows you to have one of these cards inserted in the car and together with the Seat Connect app system, control it remotely.
The configurable 10.25 ”Digital Cockpit and the standard 8.25” multimedia screen –9.2 ”as an option– also form a good company and at its highest level of equipment, the Ateca can offer a browser and a voice assistant with the precise operation.
A range with recognizable engines
Under the hood of the renewed Ateca, we have found the same engines except one of them, the 115 horsepower 1.6 TDI that has given way to a 2.0 TDI with identical power. The diesel range is completed by this same block already with 150 hp and available both with the dual-clutch DSG transmission and with the 4Drive all-wheel drive. Standard comes with the six-speed manual gearbox, just like the 115 hp.
On the gasoline side we have the 1.0 TSI 110 horsepower, well associated with the six-speed manual transmission, 1.5 TSI 150 HP (with the optional cylinder deactivation system and seven-speed DSG gearbox) and above these, at the 2.0 TSI 190 horsepower, always with the automatic transmission and 4Drive all-wheel drive.
The new Ateca offers a wide range of driving assistants such as pre-collision (which prepares all vehicle safety systems when it detects the risk of an accident), adaptive cruise control (ACC) and predictive (which works such as autopilot on the road) or the lateral emergency and exit assistant, which maintains the correct trajectory of the steering wheel in case of detecting a clear risk of leaving the correct lane or the road itself.
The Seat Ateca 2021 will be in dealerships after this summer and of course, it retains its sportier finish, the FR. But it is that it also adds an unpublished one, called X-Perience, and focused on those who are going to make an off-road use or simply, like this aesthetic. Now we only have to know some fair prices that are not yet closed although it is expected, they do not differ too much from the current ones.
