Just a few months ago, the North American firm Polaris presented us with its renewed Slingshot, that is, that peculiar three-wheeled car with openwork bodywork. Now, it’s the turn of a special edition called Slingshot Grand Touring LE.
It is a version designed to provide “comfort, style and superior design”, which is distinguished by wearing an exclusive Fairway Green color with different bronze accents to provide a touch of contrast, as well as a 20-inch rear rim painted in the latter color. Since the model has been created for long road trips, the brand has installed a larger wind deflector and a Slingshade roof that matches the body color.
Entering the cabin, drivers will find glossy black accents, ambient lighting, and ergonomic padded seats with bronze accents. There is also Rockford Fosgate audio equipment and an infotainment system with a 7-inch screen and GPS navigation. Optionally, customers can opt for heated and cooled seats from the standard Slingshot. The price set by Polaris is $ 1,200, a figure that may be high, but it should be noted that this model does not have an air conditioner.
In the mechanical section, the protagonist is a gasoline block with four cylinders and 2.0 liters of displacement, developed internally by Polaris. It is a naturally aspirated engine that develops 180 horsepower and is connected to a five-speed automated manual transmission. Also, for those seeking maximum performance, the company offers an update that improves the specifications of the propeller, increasing power to 206 hp, that is, the same figure as the standard Slingshot.
In the words of Polaris Slingshot Vice President Chris Sergeant: “With superior comfort, convenient technology, and eye-catching style, the Grand Touring LE transforms everyday driving into unforgettable adventures.” Those interested in this product can already hurry to reserve their unit since the brand will only produce less than 300 copies, whose price starts at $ 33,999 (29,745 euros in exchange).
