What will be the new features of the Peugeot 3008 2021? There is no doubt that the most prominent and most recent novelty of Peugeot in the SUV segment is the second generation of 2008, a model that is already on sale in our country (see article Peugeot 2008 2021: test and prices for Spain from new SUV). Well, the French firm also intends to renew another of its star models in this category, the 3008, larger than 2008 and a best seller in both Spain and Europe.
With 23,308 units sold in our country throughout the year 2019, the Peugeot 3008 climbed to third place in the general classification of the entire SUV segment, second only to the Nissan Qashqai (30,156 units) and the Seat Arona (25,128 units ). With the aim of continuing to be an attractive product in front of the general public and to differentiate it a little more from the new generation of its “younger brother”, from Peugeot France we have been able to know that throughout 2021 the 3008 will receive an interesting update.
In the middle of the year, the renewed Peugeot 3008 2020 will be presented, according to the latest information available to Autopista.es. From a design point of view, various changes are expected, especially in the front area to further differentiate it from 2008. The aesthetic style that the “restyling” of the 3008 will adopt will adopt certain features already seen of the Peugeot Instinct prototype, which at its They will also serve as the basis for the new generation of the 308 that will be presented at the end of this year and that will begin to be sold in 2021.
More specifically, the front of the 3008 2021 will be somewhat wider than the current model, at the same time that it will incorporate the already famous “tusk” led daytime running lights that first appeared in the current 508.
Inside, the modifications to the 3008 2021 will be much more subtle. Most of the elements will remain in place, which means that the touch screen will maintain its maximum size of 8 inches (reaches 10 inches in 2008). The instrumentation panel, depending on the version, may be digital, but not 3D. As for the small steering wheel, it retains its very particular shape with its two floors, for better readability of the instrumentation. Piano-type keys will always be present.
From a mechanical point of view, the updated Peugeot 3008 will continue to count among its two great assets with the newly released plug-in hybrid versions Hybrid 225 CV and Hybrid4 300 CV.
In gasoline, the 3008 2021 will continue to adopt the new thrusters already equipped with a special particle filter for this type of thruster. In this case, you will be able to choose 1.2 PureTech tricilíndrico of 130 CV (with manual change of six marches or automatic EAT8) and the 1.6 PureTech of four cylinders and 180 CV (in this case, only associated with the automatic transmission EAT8). For those who prefer diesel, the 1.5 BlueHDi 130 HP and 2.0 BlueHDi 180 HP versions will continue to exist.
Regarding possible versions of light hybridization with 48V system or a purely electric variant, we will have to wait for the new generation of the Peugeot 3008, initially planned for 2023.
