Last week, the KIA Sedona 2021 hinted at the design of its new generation through a sketch. The first official images were not long in coming to light. The Korean firm makes the announcement of the fourth generation of its minivan official with the advancement of its new and peculiar exterior design.
According to KIA, the new Sedona – known as Carnival in other markets – leaves behind the concept of the minivan to migrate towards the definition of GUV (Grand Utility Vehicle). This is because of SUV craze and what the Sedona 2021 takes from them, starting with the design.
The overall lines remain square to create a sleek and robust look while making the most of the interior space. The front is dominated by rectangular headlights integrated into a large grille and integrating a unique shape for LED daytime running lights. The silhouette, meanwhile, receives a chrome piece at the height of the C post, inspired by the new Sorento.
The rear is no less striking. It integrates skulls in one piece from end to end, with a slim and, to a certain extent, simple design. Its grace lies in the strokes that follow the LED lighting and the style lines of the tailgate.
At the moment, no interior images have been revealed, but you can expect the most luxurious of KIA, from a fully digital instrument panel to the new infotainment system of the house, with the 10.25-inch screen, as well as entertainment for the rear seats.
As for engines, a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with an output of around 280 is expected for the better-equipped versions, although a 1.6-liter engine, also turbocharged, with 230 hp and plug-in hybrid variants for the rest is not ruled out. of the range. The specifications and the rest of the images will be released in the coming months.
