The interior of the fourth-generation Kia Sedona has been unveiled. KIA has released details of the interior of its iconic and popular minivan. An interior that looks more technological and, above all, will offer a high level of versatility. We review its main characteristics. The new Kia Sedona will go on sale in 2020.
The new generation of the Kia Sedona is already a reality. The popular KIA minivan has undergone a comprehensive overhaul. If just a few weeks ago the South Korean firm revealed the exterior design and numerous details of this model, now it allows us to delve into its interior. That’s right, the interior of the new Kia Sedona 2021 has been exposed.
When designing the interior of the new Kia Sedona, the “Spatial Talents” concept has been followed. The brand itself describes it as versatile and technological. The interior of the fourth generation of the Kia Sedona represents an increase in quality and design over its predecessor, with a more futuristic and, without a doubt, connected interior. In short, it has been adapted to face the new times that are running and those that are coming.
Let’s focus on the technology section. The new digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen is obvious. To manage the infotainment system there is another 12.3-inch screen, but in this case, it is touch. Many of the functions can be operated through touch-sensitive controls located just below and that act as a separation between said element and the air conditioning module. Other details to point out are the multifunction steering wheel and the new configuration that the transmission tunnel presents.
The new Carnival features a longer wheelbase, a longer rear overhang, and a wider body, which translates directly to a much more spacious cabin. Depending on the market we are in, the Kia Sedona will be available with three or four rows of seats. And it offers space for 7.9 or 11 passengers. The most popular 7-seater version features second-row “captain” seats, offering a high level of comfort.
Furthermore, KIA has increased the number of slides. Second-row occupants have access to USB chargers and a new storage drawer at the base of the rear console that stores both mobile phones and tablets.
When will it hit the market? The commercial launch of the new Carnival will take place in the third quarter of 2020. It will initially go on sale in South Korea. Later it will reach other markets, such as North America, where it is known as KIA Sedona. It should be noted that KIA’s current plans do not include selling this model on European territory.
