Koreans already have more than ready the new generation of the KIA Carnival. The firm has just unveiled the first preview of the new minivan confirming its debut at a special event to be held in South Korea this summer. The teaser shows a much more modern design, a radical change.
A few weeks ago we saw some spy photos of the new KIA Carnival conducting trials near the headquarters of the Korean firm in Germany, even though it is a model that is not marketed in Europe. And we will not see this fourth generation in the Old Continent either.
The firm will continue to sell the model in Asia and the United States, where it is also known under the brand name KIA Sedona. In an advanced state of development, KIA has just released the first teaser for a presentation that won’t take longer than necessary. The plans happen because it will be revealed this summer, and we are only a few days away from the second season of the year, in South Korea.
The teaser shows the stylists’ master lines and strokes, revealing great proportions, those of a minivan with three rows of seats and seven seats that use the same platform as the also new KIA Sorento. Aesthetically, it only shows the front view, with narrower and finer headlights that also have a new signature of the daylight that is integrated into the grille, through the lower edges.
The calendar also features a new shape, in line with the one released in the new SUV, and with an internal mesh that will give a more modern appearance and elaborate in the versions most equipped with a chrome finish. As much as the interior, which will have a large curved screen between the instrument panel and the infotainment system.
The KIA Carnival will have powerful engines, highlighting in some markets the new 2.2-liter CRDi four-cylinder diesel engine, a gasoline block with the same previous 2.5-liter architecture and the new plug-in hybrid also released on board the Sorento.
