The name remains, but the concept changes radically: the Peugeot 5008 is entering a new territory, that of the large seven-seater SUVs of the C segment. With a wheelbase of 2.84 m, the new Peugeot 5008 is presented as the option with the highest habitability among SUV vehicles in segment C.
The length of the vehicle continues to be compact, it is 19 centimeters longer than the Peugeot 3008 and eleven centimeters longer than its predecessor. These are the measurements of the Peugeot 5008: it has a length of 4.64 meters, a width of 1.84 meters and its height reaches 1.65 meters.
With these dimensions, the Peugeot 5008 is among the smallest levels of SUVs and minivans in the segment. The new 5008 uses the ‘Efficient Modular Platform 2’ (EMP2) and, despite being longer than the previous generation, it conveys the feeling of being more compact thanks to the new design.
All this size that has been gained in its measurements has been dedicated to increasing interior habitability. It offers a completely new configuration on the market thanks to its three independent, identical and retractable seats in the second row. Check it out in our Peugeot 5008 test.
It is joined by two independent, retractable and removable seats in the third row and has one of the highest volume trunks in its category. The trunk of the Peugeot 5008 is capable of holding a minimum volume of 702 liters. If we fold down the backrests of the rear seats, the volume of the trunk of the Peugeot 5008 allows to store up to 1,862 liters.
The new Peugeot 5008 also has the possibility of horizontally placing the back of the front passenger seat, allowing objects up to 3.20 m long to be loaded, as well as having a hands-free gate. Discover in this video of the Peugeot 5008 how the new SUV of the French brand is.

As for diesel engines of the Peugeot 5008, there are six engines available in the range. The first of these is the 1.6 BlueHDi engine, which offers a maximum power of 100 hp. It is followed by the same 1.6 BlueHDi engine, but increases its maximum power to 130 hp. Both engines use a six-speed manual transmission, although the 130 hp can also be associated with the EAT6 automatic transmission.
Two 2.0 BlueHDi engines complete the range. The first of them offers a maximum power of 150 hp. The most powerful, which is equipped in the Peugeot 5008 GT versions, develops a maximum power of 180 HP. The most powerful diesel engine in the range is linked to the EAT6 automatic transmission.
